“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the
world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
- Margaret Mead

Prophetic words which Forty-Eight years ago were known intuitively by a group of women. This group saw the need to help their community by finding a cure for cancer. Hence, they formed The Woman’s Cancer Association of the University of Miami.

Through the efforts of WCA volunteers, WCA is one of the lowest cost fund-raising organizations. Over the last 48 years, WCA has raised and contributed over $10,000,000 in financial support to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. This effort has provided funding to programs that meet WCA cancer objectives of control, education and patient welfare.

With the funds, progress at the University of Miami has led to advanced techniques and more effective treatment protocols against cancer. Within each WCA Chapters consists of a unique group of individuals that helps make the dream of our founders a reality.

It is an honor to be a part of WCA and to provide service as President of the Woman’s Cancer Association of the University of Miami.
